Landscaping Guidance Written for Northeast Wisconsin
Most landscaping advice online is written for a milder climate than ours. Green Bay sits in USDA Zone 5b, the ground freezes solid by late November, and the spring thaw drives frost heave through anything that was not built to take it. Guidance written for Kentucky or the Pacific Northwest often fails here inside a single season.
This is where we collect what three decades of local projects have taught us: when to plant and when to hold off, which materials survive a Wisconsin freeze-thaw cycle, and which shortcuts cost more to undo than they ever saved. All of it comes from work our own crews have done on properties around Brown County.
